Belize Cancer Society Launches 2025 Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign Featuring Voices of Survivors
Belize City, October 1, 2025 – The Belize Cancer Society (BCS) proudly launched its 2025 Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign today, shining a light on strength, unity, and hope through the voices and images of six remarkable cancer survivors from across the country.
The campaign, themed “Strength in Unity: Together, We Are Unstoppable,” is a powerful reminder that breast cancer does not define those who face it. Instead, it reveals courage, resilience, and the unbreakable bonds of community. By lending their stories and faces, these survivors stand as living testaments to the power of early detection, treatment, and unwavering support.
“This campaign is not just about raising awareness—it’s about inspiring action and reminding every Belizean that no one fights alone,” said Mrs. Kim Simplis Barrow, President of the Belize Cancer Society. “These survivors embody hope, and through their images and voices, we are reminded that together, we can overcome.”
Throughout PinkTober 2025, the campaign will be featured across print, digital, and broadcast media, carrying messages of education, empowerment, and encouragement. The survivors’ stories will serve to:
The Belize Cancer Society extends deep gratitude to the six women – Ms. Hazel Thompson, Ms. Dairy Gillett, Mrs. Janine Cattouse, Ms. Judith Gillett, Mrs. Merta Rudon, Mrs. Sandra Morris – who courageously shared their journeys, as well as to the partners, creative, and volunteers—including photographer Kenneth Grant Knight and Day, Shelley Perrera, and Pink Boutique, and Priscilla & Yanny at Coulter Cher —who helped bring this campaign to life.
As the campaign unfolds, the Society invites all Belizeans to join the movement: wear pink, attend events, share knowledge, and most importantly—take charge of their health.
